Homemade Garlic Powder
Ingredients
- 8–10 heads of fresh garlic
Instructions
- Peel the garlic
Separate the cloves and remove all the skins. - Slice the garlic
Cut the cloves into thin slices. Thin slices help them dry faster. - Dry the garlic
- Oven method:
Spread slices on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
Dry at 60–70°C (140–160°F) for 2–3 hours until completely dry and brittle. - Dehydrator method:
Dry at 55–60°C (130–140°F) for 6–8 hours.
- Oven method:
- Grind into powder
Place the dried garlic slices in a blender, spice grinder, or coffee grinder.
Blend until a fine powder forms. - Store
Put the garlic powder in an airtight glass jar and store in a cool, dry place.
Optional Tip
For a smoother powder, sift it through a fine sieve and grind any larger pieces again.
